This recipe (without the optional ingredients) comes from Living on Live Food by Alissa Cohen. This has been a favorite of mine for years.
- 2 cups dried dates
- 2 cups raw almond butter
- 1/2 cup carob or cocoa powder
- Optional ingredient: unsweetened coconut flakes, or go all out, and add chocolate chips.
- Process dates in a food processor until they form a paste.
- Add remaining ingredients and process until blended.
- Scoop into balls.
Store in the fridge.
